We are seeking a creative, collaborative, and strategic leader to join our Marketing & Strategic Communications team as the Assistant Vice President, Marketing & Strategic Communications.

This is a newly created leadership position that will work closely with the Chief Communications Officer to advance the College’s marketing, communications, audience engagement, and strategic priorities. The AVP will provide strategic leadership and oversight for Valencia College’s integrated communications channels, audience engagement, and marketing operations, ensuring that strategy, execution, and performance remain aligned with institutional priorities.

We are looking for a visionary leader who understands how communications, marketing, digital engagement, public relations, creative strategy, and operations work together to build meaningful connections with audiences, advance institutional goals and measure results to make improvements.

About Our Marketing & Strategic Communications department

Our team is responsible for strategic communications that strengthen awareness and support the Valencia College mission to be the nation’s leading community college, which is dedicated to serving and enhancing the lives of the people who live throughout Central Florida.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital engagement, communications operations, or a related field, including leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and supporting multidisciplinary teams in a complex or distributed organization.
• Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating integrated marketing and communications strategies across multiple channels and functions.
• Experience leading cross-functional communications, marketing, and engagement initiatives, including collaboration across creative, digital, public relations, organizational communications, and marketing operations.
• Experience translating organizational priorities into integrated communications and marketing strategies and initiatives.

Additional Information:

• This position will operate in a primarily on-site environment.
• The salary range for the position is $133,111 – $169,716 a year.
