Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.

Meets with internal customers who request graphic services for district-level programs and initiatives, and/or school marketing/branding projects; interprets materials to include in the final product as per customer request; designs ideas for approval through the use of computers or traditional art methods.

Identifies and prepares project specs for vendor quotes.

Performs all in-house graphic design work including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Advertisements
  • Signage
  • School and event branding
  • Direct mail
  • Posters
  • Annual report
  • Brochures
  • Employee magazine
  • Presentations

Manages multiple design projects simultaneously; ensures they are completed and delivered on time.

Participates in the creative process for communication planning, branding and marketing campaigns, including brainstorming.

Preserves and protects the established brand image and standards for Orange County Public schools and furthers the brand through strategic graphic design, and upholds said brand whether created in-house or through vendor/community partnerships.

Maintains all external and internal communication pieces for the OCPS brand.

Assists in the maintenance of marketing department digital files.

Assists staff in the areas of advertising, communications, special signage needs, promotional materials and creation of print materials.

Produces directional signs, event signs, and displays, for districtwide events; prints or assembles as required.

Creates designs and completes work necessary for display or reproduction. Prepares artwork for printing and press.

Uses computer and/or traditional methods to arrive at one or several ideas for approval; uses a variety of graphic art software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint) and exhibits an understanding of the various types of paper stocks to facilitate project completion.

Applies web-based design resource tools to ensure successful project outcome (i.e., font asset management system; pre-press, pre-flight and file prep for digital, traditional and commercial press and multimedia).

Consults on large projects; coordinates tasks to bring a job to completion, to include graphics and photography.  May take photographs.

Meets with supervisor to discuss new software trends and requests for more supplies and equipment.

Monitors copyright issues.

Answers the telephone; provides information and assistance on new projects or updates on current jobs.

Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with department activities, which may include a color copier or color printers.

Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by OCPS.  With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.

Responsible for timely and accurate information they maintain as part of their job responsibilities.
