The Opportunity:
Are you a visual storytelling enthusiast with a knack for creating captivating photo and video content? Do you have the skills to lead and manage a team of talented creatives while elevating an institution’s brand and reputation? The University of Central Florida is looking for a Director of Photography to play a pivotal role in shaping our visual storytelling and brand perception.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Manage and lead the photo/video team, fostering growth and development among team members.
Cultivate a high-performance culture, ensuring alignment with UCF’s brand and creative standards.
Content Creation: Direct and execute photo and video shoots to enhance storytelling capabilities and elevate the university’s reputation.
Create brand videos and guide editors to produce compelling stories that resonate with audiences, driving emotional and rational responses.
Asset Management: Maintain and manage photo and video backup systems, multimedia databases, and user permissions.
Evaluate and facilitate external access to still and video images while providing guidance on usage.
Workflow Management: Coordinate shoots, talent, and locations, overseeing documentation such as agreements and releases.
Develop and implement systems and procedures for digital asset management, ensuring a streamlined workflow process.
Equipment Oversight: Manage the inventory of University Marketing and Communications photography/video equipment.
Ensure organizational and operational quality of equipment, facilitating seamless operation for the team.
Collaboration: Work closely with college communicators to plan, research, and execute stories aligning with and amplifying the university’s vision.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing and leading a team of photographers, editors, and motion graphics specialists.
Extensive experience in directing and executing photo and video shoots.
Strong understanding of brand development and the ability to create compelling, emotionally resonant content.
Proficient in digital asset management systems and multimedia databases.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and college communicators.
Familiarity with higher education marketing and communications is a plus.

Expected Salary: $75,809.00 to Negotiable
